Bookings and Payments

Posted rates are in Canadian Dollars and are subject to 5% GST.

Fishing licence fees are the responsibility of the guest.

All bookings require a deposit of 50% of the value of the charter on a credit card, to be held by us as security. We will not make any charges to your credit card unless specified or in accordance with our terms and conditions.

Full payment of the charter is due 72 hours prior to your departure date, and will be charged to the credit card on file unless alternate instructions are received prior.

We accept Visa & Mastercard.

A confirmation email and invoice will be sent to the customer within 24 hours of booking.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation requests must be received in writing at least 30 days in advance of the booked charter date in order to receive a refund of your deposit (less a $50 administration fee).

If a cancellation request is received less than 30 days prior to your booked charter date, your deposit becomes non-refundable.

Should a cancellation request be received after your final payment is due (72 hours prior to departure), or if your party is a no-show, the full amount of the charter is non-refundable.

* We value your business and understand travel plans change, so in the event of non-refundable cancellations, we will offer you a credit for the non-refunded amount to be put towards a booking within the following 12 months, as our schedule allows.

This cancellation policy also applies to bookings made with a gift certificate, and a portion or all of the gift certificate may be forfeited if adequate notice of cancellation is not given.

Cancellation due to sea sickness does not warrant a refund of all or a portion of your charter. If you are prone to motion sickness, please take a remedy prior to your departure time.

The Captain reserves the right to disallow intoxicated persons from boarding the vessel, and may cancel a trip if intoxicated behavior is a threat to safety. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.

The purchase of a tidal waters fishing licence is the responsibility of each guest. No compensation will be given by us for licences purchased for days in which charters are cancelled for any reason.

Cancellations by Haida Gold Ocean Adventures:

Circumstances beyond our control such as unsafe weather conditions, mechanical issues or crew health may result in the cancellation of your charter.

In the event of a cancellation by Haida Gold Ocean Adventures that results in your trip not departing, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid, or a credit towards a rebooking, your choice.

Should your trip be cut short due to unsafe weather conditions or mechanical failure, a fee adjustment will be made for the portion of the charter not used and a prorated refund issued.

If your charter is cancelled by us, we will make every effort to rebook you as soon as possible, as our mutual schedules allow.

All charters will depart as scheduled during rainy, windy or wavy conditions, unless the Captain deems it unsafe to do so.

If weather turns unexpectedly during your excursion, it is at the Captain’s discretion whether or not to end the charter ahead of schedule.

Recreational Fishing Licence (RFL)

Each individual that participates in fishing is required to obtain a RFL, including children (licence is free for children under 16 years old).

Regulations require that you must record your catch in real time. To this end you must either have a printed copy of your licence with you on board, or you must be able to log into your licence account online on a smartphone. If you do not intend to keep your catch, then a digital copy of your licence viewable on your smartphone is sufficient.

It is the responsibility of the customer to purchase their own RFL. If you intend to keep your salmon catch then a Salmon Conservation Stamp must be added to your licence. For information on purchasing a Recreational Fishing Licence and stamp click here.

If the Department of Fisheries and Oceans boards our vessel and the customer is without a licence then the customer is responsible for any implications that may result.

Passenger Conduct

It is required that all passengers behave in a safe and respectful manner to the Captain, Crew, and our property.

If we find that there has been loss or damage to our equipment or vessel due to negligence or unruly behaviour then the customer will be liable for replacement or repair of the item (charged to the credit card number held for security).

The Captain reserves the right to end a charter early if unruly or unsafe behaviour is displayed, without refund.

Alcohol is allowed in moderation onboard the vessel, however responsible consumption must be adhered to. We are not liable for any injury related to the consumption of alcohol.

The Captain reserves the right to refuse alcohol onboard if he deems it to be unsafe, or refuse a passenger onboard the vessel if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

General

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the departure time of your trip.

No smoking or vaping is permitted aboard the vessel or on the docks.

No pets are permitted aboard the vessel.

Haida Gold Ocean Adventures wants to provide a safe and enjoyable boating experience for our guests. However, due to the unpredictable nature of a boating excursion be aware that there is a remote risk of injury or even the more extreme. Please understand and appreciate the dangers involved and once aboard the vessel the customer must assume and accept all these risks.
